May & Baker Warns Investors Against Fraudulent Investment Scheme

May & Baker Nigeria Plc has disowned a fraudulent investment scheme known as “M&B Equity Stake,” warning the public against unauthorized individuals and platforms soliciting funds in its name.

In a public notice dated August 17, 2026, the pharmaceutical company said it became aware of persons and entities allegedly using its name to lure unsuspecting members of the public into making investments.

May & Baker stated that it has no connection with the promoters of the scheme and neither operates nor endorses any investment programme outside its official communication channels and regulatory disclosures. The company described any platform, website, flyer, message or publication soliciting funds under the “M&B Equity Stake” or similar schemes as fraudulent and unauthorized.

The company also clarified that legitimate corporate activities, including dividends, rights issues and other shareholder-related matters, are communicated exclusively through approved official channels.

May & Baker urged investors and shareholders to verify any investment opportunity claiming to originate from the company before committing funds. It further advised the public to disregard messages linked to the scheme, avoid making payments or sharing personal and financial information, and report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
