August Dividend Rush: 8 NGX Companies Reveal Qualification Cut-Offs

News Aug 4, 2026 Ayodunvic

According to corporate disclosures filed with the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and compiled by Nairametrics Research, eight listed companies have set their dividend qualification dates for August 2026.

This cutoff date determines eligibility for declared payouts, ensuring investors holding shares on or before the specified day receive their dividends, whereas subsequent buyers do not.

The scheduled distributions span multiple sectors of the Nigerian equities market. Among the standout issuers, Seplat Energy Plc announced both an interim dividend of 5 cents per share and a special dividend of 7 cents per share.

Similarly, Presco Plc declared both an interim and a final dividend for qualifying shareholders. Kickstarting the month's qualification schedule, VFD Group Plc set its qualification date for August 3, 2026, ahead of a planned disbursement date of August 10, 2026.

The investment holding company proposed an interim payout of N0.24 per share following steady earnings growth in 2025. Supported by an earnings per share figure of N0.95, VFD Group's annual revenue rose 13.22% year-on-year to N88.36 billion from N78.04 billion.

Meanwhile, its profit after tax increased 11.77% to N9.72 billion, up from N8.69 billion, and retained earnings expanded by 55.58% to reach N16.71 billion.
